ca. 1953-1994 SLACK & BARLOW Silverpride Plate EPNS A1 Flatware, Sheffield, England (EPNS A1 = Electro Plated Nickle Silver - Highest Quality). This is an unknown pattern. Slack & Barlow was active in the 1930s at 14 Sycamore St, Sheffield, England. In 1947 the firm became Slack & Barlow Sheffield Ltd. using the trade mark SILVERPRIDE. In 1974 the firm was active in Silverpride Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield. The firm was dissolved in March 1994. The Knife handles have a British Registered Design #870010 ("RD. 870010"). This is a numeric design registration number intended to protect the intellectual property by the British government. This registration system began in 1839 and is managed by The National Archives for items sent to the Designs Registry, part of the Board of Trade, to be registered for copyright protection between 1839 and 1991.
